Eaves or Velux roof light loft conversions are among the simplest and the most cost effective loft conversion option. Lots of homes across the UK have already had a roof light loft conversion carried out, this is because the work involves relatively little disruption and doesn’t require any changes to the existing shape of the roof.
Planning permission is not generally required for this work as it falls under the category of permitted development. This is because a Velux loft conversion does not require the loft to be extended beyond the line of the original roof.
The structure of the roof itself is not altered, and Velux windows are installed along the current angle of the roof. This helps to ensure that they let in a substantial amount of natural light, so that your new loft space is bright.
Velux loft conversions are also a good option where there are restrictions on planning, such as properties in conservation areas. We have completed many Velux loft conversions providing homes with more space.
